Because we’re human, we constantly seek answers about our lives. We want to know why things happen, when will circumstances change, and how can we shape those changes. So, we spend a lot of time trying to figure those things out. But have you ever thought you had found the answers only to have something happen that tells you that you have not found the answers at all?

After spending much of my life searching for the answers to explain my life, I realized that God had created life without any input from me. Therefore, the ways of life are God’s business, not mine. But if life is God’s business, I ask myself, what is my business?

My business, I concluded, is to do the will of God as spoken by Jesus, who was with God when life was created. To “mind my business,” I have to surrender to the word of God to the best of my ability. I have to study the word of God then apply what I had learned to my own life to the best of ability. To do that I have to get out of God’s way.

Getting Out of God’s Way is my spiritual journey to try to accomplish this.

Did God create us and just leave us here to our own devices?

The Bible says that God created man and woman in his image. God, being spirit, I understand that to mean we are created in God’s spiritual image. That spiritual image is our essence which keeps us connected to God. God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So with that in mind:

Is God talking to us?
If so, what is God saying to us?
Are we listening?

Paying attention to the movement of God in our life and the lives of the people around us can be very enlightening. God is speaking to us. The purpose of the book is to inspire us to look and listen. It might be an event or situation you encounter, it might be that still voice Isaiah mentioned in Isaiah 30:21, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

We all have a life’s journey, which can be enhanced by paying attention to the spirit of God within us.
